Communities in Los Arqueros, Benahavís
A guide to the individual residential communities within Los Arqueros — from established golf-side apartments and low-density townhouse developments to contemporary homes and independent villas.
Understanding the communities of Los Arqueros
Los Arqueros is often described as a single residential area, but in practice it is made up of a collection of individual communities arranged around the golf course and surrounding hillsides. Each has its own character, orientation, property mix and facilities, which means two homes marketed simply as being in “Los Arqueros” can offer quite different living experiences.
Some developments sit close to the clubhouse and fairways, while others occupy higher positions where the emphasis shifts towards open golf, mountain and Mediterranean views. There are intimate communities with only a few dozen homes, larger established apartment developments, townhouse-only enclaves and newer contemporary residences with extensive wellness facilities.
Los Arqueros also includes individually built villas and residential plots that do not form part of any of the named communities below. For buyers, understanding this micro-location is often just as important as deciding to live in Los Arqueros itself.

The descriptions below provide a practical overview. Individual properties can vary considerably in outlook, condition and specification, even within the same community.
Avalon
Contemporary apartments and penthouses · 72 homes
Avalon is one of the more contemporary communities in Los Arqueros, with south and south-west facing apartments and penthouses designed around large terraces, natural light and open views. Homes include underground parking and storerooms, while landscaped communal areas centre around a heated outdoor swimming pool. Its modern architecture and newer specification make Avalon noticeably different in character from the earlier Mediterranean-style developments elsewhere in Los Arqueros.
El Alto
Apartments and townhouses · 100 homes
El Alto was the first residential development built within Los Arqueros and has one of the area's most established characters. Designed in the style of a white Andalusian village, it combines spacious apartments and townhouses with mature gardens and two communal swimming pools. Its elevated position gives many homes golf, countryside and Mediterranean views, while the mix of property types makes El Alto rather different from the apartment-only communities found elsewhere in Los Arqueros.
El Lago
Frontline-golf apartments and penthouses · 72 homes
One of the original Los Arqueros communities, El Lago is particularly notable for its frontline position beside the golf course. The development contains spacious apartments and penthouses, with private gardens on many ground-floor homes and rooftop solariums on penthouses. Mature landscaping gives El Lago a settled feel, while two communal swimming pools — including a heated pool — make it particularly practical for owners who spend time here outside the main summer season.
La Finca
Apartments and penthouses · 136 homes
La Finca occupies a particularly convenient position close to Los Arqueros Golf & Country Club, making it one of the communities where the clubhouse, restaurant, pro shop and driving range can be reached relatively easily on foot. The south and south-west facing homes are known for open golf, mountain and Mediterranean outlooks. Two communal pools sit within mature landscaped gardens, while generous terraces make outdoor living an important part of the appeal.
La Torre
Apartments and penthouses · 136 homes
La Torre is an established gated development arranged across three phases, with low-rise buildings surrounded by mature tropical landscaping. Depending on position, homes can overlook the golf course, lake, communal gardens or Mediterranean beyond. Its four communal swimming pools are an unusual advantage within Los Arqueros. Underground parking and lift access also make La Torre practical for year-round living as well as for owners looking for an easy-to-manage second home.
Las Encinas
Low-density apartments · 30 homes
Las Encinas is one of the smallest apartment communities within Los Arqueros, with just 30 two and three-bedroom homes spread across five low-rise buildings. All properties have a south-east orientation and outdoor space in the form of terraces, gardens or penthouse solariums. A communal pool and established gardens reinforce the quieter, low-density atmosphere, making Las Encinas appealing to buyers who prefer a smaller community rather than a large apartment development.
Las Jacarandas
Apartments and penthouses · 150 homes
Las Jacarandas is one of the larger communities in Los Arqueros, arranged across 25 low-rise blocks with only six properties in each building. Its elevated south-facing position gives many homes golf and Mediterranean views, while penthouses add private rooftop terraces. Residents have two main communal swimming pools plus a separate children's pool, and the buildings include underground parking and lift access. Its scale is balanced by the relatively small number of homes in each individual block.
Las Terrazas
Low-density apartments and penthouses · 41 homes
Las Terrazas occupies one of the higher positions within Los Arqueros and is characterised by low density, south and south-west orientations and broad views across the golf course, countryside and towards the Mediterranean. Only 41 homes are distributed between seven small buildings, each with lift access. Underground parking, landscaped gardens and a large communal pool complete a community whose principal appeal is its combination of privacy, elevation and outlook.
Los Almendros (Los Arqueros)
Townhouses · 33 homes
Los Almendros is distinctive because it is the only named Los Arqueros community composed entirely of townhouses. The gated development contains just 33 three and four-bedroom homes, many with private gardens, terraces and garages. Two communal pools and landscaped gardens overlook the golf course and Mediterranean, while the larger internal and external spaces can suit buyers wanting more of a house-like lifestyle without moving to a detached villa.
Important: Los Almendros within Los Arqueros should not be confused with the separate Los Almendros neighbourhood in Benahavís.
Los Arrayanes Golf
Contemporary apartments and penthouses · 78 homes
Los Arrayanes Golf offers a noticeably more contemporary interpretation of apartment living, with 78 homes distributed across nine low-rise buildings between the Los Arqueros and El Higueral golf courses. Large terraces, south and west-facing orientations and open views are complemented by unusually extensive communal facilities, including an outdoor pool, heated indoor pool, gym, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Underground parking and lift access add to its strong year-round residential appeal.
Los Balcones
Apartments and penthouses · 38 homes
With only 38 apartments and penthouses across seven blocks, Los Balcones is another of the smaller communities in Los Arqueros. Its elevated position close to the clubhouse and sports facilities gives many properties golf, mountain and sea views. Ground-floor homes can have private gardens, while penthouses add rooftop solariums. The centrepiece is a heated infinity-style communal pool set within landscaped Andalusian gardens, giving the development a particularly distinctive communal setting.
Los Eucaliptos
Apartments and penthouses · 90 homes
Los Eucaliptos occupies the southern side of the wider Los Arqueros area and has a relatively low-density layout, with just six homes in each three-storey building. Apartments and penthouses are surrounded by established landscaped gardens and two communal swimming pools. Buildings have lift access, every property includes underground parking and many also have private storage. The combination of generous layouts and practical facilities makes Los Eucaliptos particularly suitable for year-round residential use.
Los Naranjos
Low-density apartments and penthouses · 42 homes
Los Naranjos contains just 42 apartments and penthouses arranged across seven small blocks, creating one of the more intimate residential environments in Los Arqueros. Its elevated setting gives many homes views across the golf course, mountains and Mediterranean. Underground parking and lifts serve the buildings, while some homes add storerooms or rooftop terraces. Residents share a main swimming pool and separate children's pool within the landscaped communal grounds.
Los Olivos
Apartments and penthouses · 72 homes
Los Olivos occupies an elevated position and contains a mixture of two and three-bedroom apartments and penthouses, together with a smaller number of larger duplex penthouses. Many properties look across the golf course, mountains and Mediterranean, with the hills around La Zagaleta creating a green backdrop. The community has two swimming pools with separate children's pools, mature gardens, underground parking and lift access, giving it a well-established and practical residential character.
Los Pinos
Mediterranean-style apartments and penthouses · 72 homes
Los Pinos is one of the original Mediterranean-style communities in Los Arqueros and occupies an elevated position overlooking the golf course towards the Mediterranean. The gated development contains spacious two, three and four-bedroom apartments and penthouses with underground parking and lift access. Two communal swimming pools sit within landscaped gardens, with one pool heated for year-round use — a useful feature for permanent residents and owners who visit outside the summer months.
Los Robles
Apartments and penthouses · 90 homes
Los Robles combines Mediterranean-village styling with a relatively low-rise layout of two and three-bedroom apartments and penthouses. Homes have south or south-westerly orientations, with generous terraces and some private gardens overlooking the golf landscape. Mature communal gardens include separate adult and children's swimming pools, while underground parking and private storerooms provide useful everyday practicality. Its combination of outdoor space and established surroundings works well for both permanent and second-home living.
Unico
Boutique contemporary apartments · 24 homes
Unico is one of the smallest and most contemporary communities in Los Arqueros, positioned beside Los Arrayanes Golf and comprising just 24 two and three-bedroom apartments across four blocks. South-west facing homes have large terraces or private gardens and open views across the surrounding landscape. The communal facilities are unusually extensive for such a small development, including indoor and outdoor pools, gym, sauna, Turkish bath, jacuzzi, tennis and padel facilities within landscaped grounds.
Independent villas in Los Arqueros
Not every home in Los Arqueros belongs to one of the named communities above. Individual villas and villa plots are spread across the wider Los Arqueros area, often occupying private positions around the golf course and surrounding hillsides.
These homes vary much more widely in age, architecture, plot size and specification than properties within the apartment and townhouse developments. They range from established Mediterranean villas to renovated and contemporary homes, with some enjoying frontline-golf positions and others prioritising elevation, privacy or panoramic views. Buyers looking specifically for a detached villa should therefore consider both the individual property and its precise position within Los Arqueros rather than searching by community name alone.
Choosing the right community in Los Arqueros
There is no single type of Los Arqueros buyer. Someone looking for easy access to the clubhouse may prioritise a different part of the area from somebody whose main objective is elevation and panoramic views. Likewise, a family living here year-round may value lifts, underground parking, children's pools and heated swimming facilities differently from an owner looking primarily for a lock-up-and-leave holiday home.
Orientation also matters. South and south-west facing properties often attract buyers looking for afternoon sun and distant Mediterranean views, while frontline-golf positions place greater emphasis on greenery and immediate course views. Even within the same development, a ground-floor garden apartment, mid-floor home and penthouse can feel quite different.
